DNA - Dad Needs Assistance
Dads Need Assistance is a fatherhood mentoring program that assists teen fathers in developing healthy relationships with their children and their child's mother. DNA was developed in collaboration with Trenton, New Jersey-area social workers, community leaders and school faculty. Love Thy Neighbor’s mission is to promote positive involvement and interaction between fathers and their children, and to increase the ability of fathers to meet the social, emotional, financial and educational needs of their children. The DNA program began in October 2004 with the teen population currently attending Trenton Central High School. In September 2005 the second phase of DNA was launched including single fathers ages 18-30 from the Mercer County the community and ex-offenders re-entering the community after being incarcerated.
